Hi

In IMG you might have activated Cost Center as one of the additional
accounting objects. This setting is probably no allowing you to suppress the
cost center during asset master creation even though you are trying to
suppress it in the screen lay out.

Please check out the setting in IMG against 'Activate Additional Account
Assignment Objects'.
