Hi Alexander

I suppose New G L supports the Business Area scenario also. It is just that
profit center accounting and segment accounting have taken priority and
therefore use of business areas is losing popularity. However, New G L
considers Business Area as one of the six scenarios ( Cost Center ,
Functional Area, Profit Center, Segment, preparation for consolidation and
Business Area ) .

Please correct if I am wrong.

Hi Nag.

Your assumption is correct : the business area is not allocated to the company code.

This all has to do with the New General Ledger where Business Areas are no longer supported by SAP, and replaced by Profit Centers that derive business segments ?

Are you using NGL ?
