I suggest you to use a new material code an change your stock from one code to the other.

Otherwise you will be having uncertain historical data i.e. you will not be sure if the data shown refers to the old material or to the new one.

I have been asked by an internal customer to change the specs of an item in the PO text and classification screen while the item is still in stock. He says that the item in the bin is obsolete and if required they would like to buy the item with the new specs. I want to know what could be the potential adverse impacts in terms of moving average price, valuation or any other that I have not thought about.
