Hi Roy,
I used some of the suggestions from the members one of them was to get the last posted document number and enter the one following the last posted document number in the from number range for depreciation posting and was able to post the depreciation now in period 6 for the depreciation that didn't post in 2007. It only managed to update the g/l account for fixed assets but the indicator is not marked with X in table TABA. And now I can't run depreciation for 2011 because of the error message above.
The depreciation didn't post completely in 2007. How do I update table taba without opening the fiscal year 2007 as the figures for 2007 have already been reported to.

What changes did you make to the number ranges and in which system (PRD?) What postings did you make? We are not mind-readers and cannot see your screen, so please give us some more clues.
