Thanks for this, Flaviano. I agree with this completely. Actually, I was looking for more technical explanation to this problem as I might have to explain this to a wide variety of people and some of them may be MRP controllers and Inventory Managers.

I have been asked by an internal customer to change the specs of an item in the PO text and classification screen while the item is still in stock. He says that the item in the bin is obsolete and if required they would like to buy the item with the new specs. I want to know what could be the potential adverse impacts in terms of moving average price, valuation or any other that I have not thought about.
